Alexandre is an Economist and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He is the founder and chairman of The Multipolarity Report, which he founded after twenty years of experience as an economist, policy advisor, and investment strategist.
Alexandre filled a number of key positions with major governmental and commercial organizations across the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, and Africa), including as Banking Supervisor and Financial Economist at the French Central Bank, Senior Economist at EXANE BNP Paribas, and Chief Economist and Group Head of Research at Tell Group.
In 2010, Alexandre set up a boutique advisory firm to provide research and strategic advisory to governments, financial institutions, and corporations around the world. He led several strategic missions for major financial institutions – including the BNP Paribas Group and LCH Clearnet – helping them to adapt to the new regulatory and competitive environment that emerged from the Global Financial Crisis of 2008. He also advised a number of Governments and Multilateral organizations, including the World Bank, the International Labour Organization, and the European Commission.
For over a decade, Alexandre has been lecturing in International Economics and Finance at Sciences Po – a leading Higher Education institution in France. He is the author of unnumerable op-eds and articles. He is also the author of two acclaimed Non-fiction books published in French: Les Nouvelles puissances mondiales. Pourquoi les BRIC changent le monde (The New World Powers. How the BRIC countries change the world) published in 2011, and “Les économies arabes en mouvement. Un nouveau modèle de développement pour la région MENA” (Arab economies on the Move. A New Development Model for the MENA Region), published in 2019 with a foreword by former WTO Director-General Pascal Lamy.
Alexandre graduated from Ecole Centrale Paris in Financial Engineering and from Sciences Po Paris in Economics and Political Science. He speaks fluently French and Russian (native languages), as well as Arabic and English. He also has a good command of German and Spanish and a deep interest in the Chinese language and culture.
